Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety fire report Jan. 25-31
A 35-year-old man driving a pickup at a high speed hit a telephone pole along state Route 169 in Black Diamond at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.
According to a release from Tim Perciful, spokesman for Mountain View Fire and Rescue, the pole fell and power lines were on the ground.
When firefighters and emergency personnel arrived they found the pickup upside down.

The Maple Valley Fire Department asks residents to be sure street numbers are highly visible on homes and businesses. The department encourages residents to post reflective address signs so emergency vehicles can quickly find an address even when it is dark.

The City of Covington is accepting applications for one replacement position on the Covington Arts Commission. This position is open to an adult or youth living or working within Covington city limits and the commissioner will serve the balance of a three-year term set to expire Dec. 31. The Arts Commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Covington City Hall.

Tahoma High senior Hannah Roberts has scheduled a soccer camp Feb. 6 at Tahoma High multipurpose field for her senior project.
The camp is one day for youths in grades one through six and will be taught by Roberts and Tahoma coaches and students. The cost is $20
The camp hours are 9-12 p.m. for grades one-three and 1-4 p.m. for grades four-six.

Covington’s Parks and Recreation department is hosting the third meeting on its Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) plan, with staff and consultants planning to unveil the preliminary version at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Community Room at Covington City Hall, 16720 271st St. S.E.
The Kent Fire Department responded to fire in an apartment building at 2:40 p.m. today, Friday, in the 11000 block of SE Kent Kangley Road.
Two apartments were damaged by the fire.
