Preparations are underway for the Grand Affair Waltz Gala Ball presented by the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra.

This year’s event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at the Lake Wilderness Lodge.

This evening includes live waltz music performed by Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, ballroom dance performance and instruction by Pacific Ballroom Dance, an Italian pasta dinner, a no-host bar catered by Cedar Grill and a silent auction.

“Last year’s event was so much fun and got many rave reviews from people who attended,” Elisa Lewis said, executive director of the orchestra. “People really seemed to enjoy a chance to get dressed up and have a classy night out without leaving town.”

With only 200 tickets available, this year’s event is expected to sell out.

The ball is the orchestra’s largest annual fundraiser. Funds from the event will go to support the orchestra’s continuing efforts toward providing music education for the youth members, engaging performances and active community involvement. Sponsors for the event include Pacific Ballroom Dance and Kohl’s.

Tickets are $40 each and are available by calling 425-358-1640 or online at www.mvyso.org. Tickets purchased online will incur an additional 5 percent handling fee.
