In the recreation division of the Maple Valley Parks & Recreation adult kickball league, Balls & Dolls earned their second championship title in 2009.
The Hot Kickers upset the DodgeBALLS 6-5 for the Maple Valley Parks & Recreation adult kickball championship crown.
The DodgeBALLS defeated the Hot Kickers in the final game of the regular season 15-6 to earn league honors, but the Hot Kickers came back for the top prize.

The Tahoma girls soccer team will be playing in the state tournament after beating the Kentlake Falcons 1-0. That is the simple part of the story.
But the real story was about two teams of girls, going through a day of twists and turns, and in the end playing 80 minutes of the best high school soccer anyone could ask to see.

The state soccer tournament is one step away for either Kentlake or Tahoma.
The Kentwood High football team passed the test last Friday night at French Field.
A program long-known for its running, grind-it-out style of play turned to the air in sealing a playoff berth in a loser-out game against Kentlake. Quarterback Tristan Askew completed 5 of 8 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Conquerors past the Falcons 28-0 in the final regular-season South Puget Sound League North Division game for both teams.
Kentlake’s girls swim team made a statement at the West Central District meet last Saturday placing a solid second with 150 points behind Gig Harbor’s 169.
The Kentwood High volleyball team has qualified for state in each of the past five years.
The Conquerors will try and make it six straight Friday and Saturday (Nov. 6-7) during the 16-team West Central District tournament at Kentwood High.
The Kent-Meridian boys cross country team got it done this past Saturday during the 29-team district meet at Tacoma’s American Lake Golf Course while the Tahoma girl’s squad finished in second place.
The Tahoma girls soccer team did what it set out to do in the beginning of the season, play well, hang together and win the league.
A 1-0 victory over Federal Way Oct. 29 with eight minutes remaining clinched the top spot for the Bears in the South Puget Sound League 4A, North Division with a 13-1-2 record.
