LAUREN SEWELL, Kentridge

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Golf.

• Accomplishment: Sewell won her second straight district title, carding a two-day total of 141 (69-72), which proved to be eight strokes better than second-place finisher Rui Li of Kentwood.

• Favorite class: U.S. History.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Jim Carrey and we would have Italian Food.

• Favorite movie: Terminator 2. Most recent book read/author: “Kane and Abel” by Jeffrey Archer.

• What’s on your iPod?: “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N’ Roses.

• Also noted: Sewell, a three-time state placer, will play golf on scholarship next year at Oregon State University.

KENT HAGEN, Kentwood

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Golf.

• Accomplishment: Hagen carded a two-day total of 145 during last week’s district tournament at Bremerton’s Gold Mountain Golf Course, a score that proved to be good enough for second-place. Hagen’s performance helped the Conquerors win their third straight district crown.

Favorite class: Sports Medicine.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (professional golfer) Fred Couples and Edgar Martinez. I would take them out to Chipotle Grill at Kent Station.

• Favorite movie: Iron Man.

• Most recent book read/author: “The things they carried,” by Tim O’Brien. What’s on your iPod?: “I got a feeling,” by Black-Eyed Peas.

• Also noted: Hagen is the three-time South Puget Sound League Golfer of the Year and will be playing at Washington State University next school year.

GABBY LINDBLAD, Kennedy

• Grade: Sophomore.

• Sport: Swimming.

• Accomplishment: Lindblad, a Kent resident, has blossomed into one of the state’s elite swimmers. Entering this week, she already had garnered “Ironwoman” status as she has qualified for state in every individual event.

• Favorite class: Math.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (Kentlake swimmer) Emily Tanasse, my best friend! We would eat Snickers, ice cream, animal crackers, sparkling lemonade and fries.

• Favorite movie: Anchorman.

• Most recent book read/author: Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton.

• What’s on your iPod?: “Replay” by Iyaz.

• Also noted: Lindblad sports a 3.9 grade-point average and swims year round for the King County Aquatics Club.

CHERENE O’HARA, K-M

• Grade: Junior.

• Sport: Volleyball.

• Accomplishment: O’Hara helped the Royals knock off perennial power Kentwood in four games, racking up a match-high 11 kills to go along with six blocks.

• Favorite class: English.

• If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (professional beach volleyball player) Misty May and I would serve grilled chicken burgers, Caesar salad and lemonade.

• Favorite movie: Wall-e. Most recent book read/author: “Inkdeath,” by Carolina Funke.

• What’s on your iPod?: “Ain’t no rest for the wicked,” by Caged Elephant.

MAX MANTHOU, Kentwood

• Grade: Senior.

• Sport: Tennis.

• Accomplishment: Manthou, a three-time state champion, continued to roll through opponents during last week’s league tournament. The KW standout one each set of every match he played, culminating with a championship victory over Kentridge’s Matt Overland. It’s Manthou’s fourth league title.

Favorite class: AP Literature. If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (comedian) Chris Rock and (NBA star and Seattle native) Nate Robinson and serve Ezell’s fried chicken and pork fried rice.

• Favorite movie: Gran Torino.

• Most recent book read/author: “Great Expectations,” by Charles Dickens.

• What’s on your iPod?: “T.N.T.” by AC/DC and “All in,” by The Grouch & Eligh.

• Also noted: Manthou’s favorite hobby is playing fantasy football.
