The Regional Animal Services of King County announced it will not be accepting adult cats temporarily beginning Dec. 6 from owners trying to place their cats in the Kent shelter.
The city of Covington is accepting applications to fill two upcoming openings on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Commission currently meets at City Hall the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Both position terms begin Feb. 1, 2011. Adult terms are for three years; youth terms are for one year.

DOMESTIC VANITY: Summit Drive. Officers were dispatched to a residence on Summit Drive for a possible domestic disturbance. The male caller advised his girlfriend was inside destroying the house. Upon arrival officers made contact with both parties and learned that the male caller was intoxicated and had fabricated the entire incident. The intoxicated male subject agreed to leave the residence for the night and return after he sobered up, advising the only reason he did this was because she “took his name in vain”.

DRUG DEALERS: Southeast Wax Road and Southeast 275th Street. A pair of suspects were caught “dealing dope” in a fast food parking lot and were also cited for driving recklessly, with one of the suspects driving despite having a suspended license.
ACCIDENT: State Route 18 near the 244th Avenue S.E. exit. Emergency personnel and firefighters were dispatched to a single car accident at about 11 a.m. While on SR 18 en route to that accident the emergency personnel viewed an additional single-car rollover accident.

Carbon monoxide cannot be seen or smelled, but at high levels it can kill a person in minutes. Carbon monoxide or CO is produced whenever any fuel such as gas, oil, kerosene, wood, or charcoal is burned. If appliances that burn fuel are maintained and used properly, the amount of CO produced is usually not hazardous.
The risk of fires from heaters and candles increases during the holiday season.
