Northwoods Wind Quintet concert planned for Covington Hollydaze Dec. 5

The newest addition to the third annual Covington Hollydaze event line-up is a family concert featuring the Northwoods Wind Quintet at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Kentwood High School Performing Arts Center.
“Wonder of Winds for the Hollydaze” is a light-hearted sampling of works for woodwinds with unexpected twists and surprises. Seasonal arrangements in the performance were scored for the Northwoods Quintet by local composer, Robert Puff.
The quintet is made up of full-time career musicians who are members of, or play regularly with the Seattle Symphony, Auburn Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and the Fifth Avenue and Paramount theater Orchestras.

Covington Hollydaze, “a gift to the community” presented by the Kiwanis Club of Covington is supported by local businesses and organizations including Kohl’s, Walmart, IHOP, Multicare, Friends of Covington Library, Jenkins Creek PTA, Cedar Valley PTA, Bowen Scarff, and City of Covington.
Hollydaze activities also include a “float-in” movie and swim, pancake breakfast and photos with Santa, holiday bazaar, street carolers, fruitcake hurl, community tree-lighting and a blood drive.
Donations of non-perishable food items or cash for local food bank holiday dinner and gift programs are gladly accepted at all Hollydaze events. Additional information is available at Hollydaze website
