The city of Black Diamond hired a new city administrator, Leonard Smith, at the Thursday City Council meeting.
The city ended the contract with former City Administrator Gwendolyn Voelpel Sept. 25.
A 49-year-old Black Diamond man, James Ecret, is being sought by police for domestic violence felony harassment and cyber harassment. Police spokesman Sgt. Greg Goral said Ecret should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Maple Valley City Council unanimously approved a surface water management rate increase at the Sept. 8 meeting.
