The Maple Valley police officer hit by a car Tuesday is in a rehabilitation facility and will be for an extended period of time according to Police Chief Michelle Bennett.

The Covington City Council stayed on the steady course Tuesday by re-electing Mayor Margaret Harto and Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Wagner.
Harto was nominated by Wagner and unanimously elected by the members.

Michael Lentz will be teaching the “Fundamentals of Drawing from Life.” The workshop is scheduled for eight weeks from 7-10 p.m., Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 20. The cost is $200.
