Bail was set today for Cecil Douglas Walker in King County Superior Court for the stabbing death of his mother, 86-year-old Ella May Walker.
According to the King County Prosecutor’s website Walker appeared in court today and bail was set at $1 million.
The prosecutor’s office has until Wednesday, Sept. 1, to file charges.
The 50-year-old Cecil Walker is accused of using a knife to stab his mother to death while she sat in a chair in her house. Cecil Walker lived with her.

Cecil Douglas Walker was arrested Friday by a Black Diamond police officer for allegedly stabbing to death his 86-year-old mother, Ella May Walker.
The 50-year-old Cecil Walker is accused of using a knife to kill his mother while she sat in a chair in her house sometime during the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 27.

The Black Diamond Police Department reported an 86-year-old woman, Ella May Walker, was stabbed to death Friday afternoon in the 25000 block of Morgan Street.
The woman’s 50-year-old son, Cecil Douglas Walker, was arrested for allegedly committing first degree murder, domestic violence in the death of his mother.

The waiting and wondering about the Fred Meyer shopping center planned at Four Corners in Maple Valley appears to be over.
Peter Powell, owner of Bellevue-based Powell Development, wrote in an e-mail the project got the green light from The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati, Ohio, which owns the Fred Meyer stores.
Construction is expected to begin early in 2011.

After weeks of deliberations, debate and discussion the Black Diamond City Council unanimously voted to approve, with conditions, the master planned developments The Villages and Lawson Hills.

The Tuesday evening vote directs the City Attorney, Bob Sterbank, to draft an ordinance with conditions for the two YarrowBay developments. Sterbank will present the document to the council at a closed-record hearing scheduled for Sept. 14.

The orchestra performed a variety of movie theme selections including “Over the Rainbow,” “The Fellowship of the Ring,” “Hedgewig’s Theme” and pieces from Star Wars.

A Covington man riding a motorcycle died during a hit-and-run crash in Tacoma at 2:26 a.m. Saturday.
According to Tacoma Police Department spokesman Mark Fulghum, 30-year-old Darnell Chocklon was hit at the intersection of Ninth Street and South Ainsworth Avenue by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle left the scene of the accident. Investigators believe the vehicle was a white SUV possibly a Jeep.

Mike Glenn, Valley Medical Center’s senior vice president of business development, has accepted the position of chief executive officer of the public hospital, Jefferson Healthcare, located in Port Townsend.
Glenn will take over the reins of the Jefferson County Public Hospital No. 2 in October. The 48-year-old Glenn lives in Sequim and was previously the administrator of the Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
