Mike Glenn, Valley Medical Center’s senior vice president of business development, has accepted the position of chief executive officer of the public hospital, Jefferson Healthcare, located in Port Townsend.

Glenn will take over the reins of the Jefferson County Public Hospital No. 2 in October. The 48-year-old Glenn lives in Sequim and was previously the administrator of the Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.

Glenn has been involved in Valley’s proposed medical plaza project in Covington’s town center area. The plaza would include a 24-hour emergency medical center, medical offices, retail space and a public park. The 10-acre site is located behind Safeway.

Glenn stated by e-mail he will continue to focus on the town center project during his last weeks at Valley.

The City Council is considering the zoning and design standards for the downtown area, which includes zoning to allow an emergency department in the town center.
