Jenkins Creek among three Kent School District elementary schools recognized by state superintendent

Three Kent schools in the top 10 percent of Title 1 schools.

Kent School District is proud to announce that Jenkins Creek, Glenridge and Martin Sortun elementary schools were named as Reward Schools by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Randy Dorn. The Reward School designation goes to the top 10 percent of the state’s Title 1 schools in reading and math as calculated over a three year period.

“The purpose of the identification is to acknowledge the improvement efforts in our Reward Schools and continue to collaborate, support and improve,”  Dorn said. “We have an obligation to ensure that each of our 1.1 million students in Washington has an opportunity to attend an excellent school.”
