How passionate are you about volunteering?
Here’s an opportunity for someone looking to find worthwhile ways to give back to their community — help the Lake Wilderness Arboretum manage its event calendar and volunteer activities by acting as event and/or volunteer coordinator.
The Arboretum hosts several activities each year, ranging from staffing a booth at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show and Maple Valley Days to coordinating large fundraisers like the annual spring and fall plant sales and Make a Difference Day, which takes place this year on Oct. 26.
“No gardening knowledge is needed; we have staff and garden volunteers to support you,” Executive Director Amy Hardebeck said. “We just need someone who enjoys putting together small and mid-sized events and is looking for a way to give back to the community.”
Events are typically held on-site or near the Arboretum and much of the coordination can be accomplished from home.
If you’re interested in coordinating the Arboretum’s events or volunteers, email info@lakewildernessarboretum.org or call 253-293-5103.
The Branching Out newsletter is back in publication and is free to all Arboretum members. The June 2013 issue is available to the public and can be viewed at LakeWildernessArboretum.org.
