One of the four rock-blasting closures planned for next week on I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass could result in a closure lasting up to four hours. If you have a time-sensitive appointment or flight to catch, plan ahead to avoid the closure.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews plan to close I-90 in both directions starting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, from Gold Creek (milepost 54) to Easton (milepost 71). A reopening time depends on the amount of time it takes to remove boulders and large pieces of debris. Crews will also evaluate and repair any damage to the highway. Drivers need to plan for up to four hours of additional travel time.

The closures scheduled for Monday, April 29, Tuesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 2 are scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. from Gold Creek (milepost 54) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61).

Also, crews are repairing bridge decks along I-90 between Easton and Ellensburg. Construction starts April 29, and drivers can expect single-lane closures during the day.
