Tahoma’s girls swim team is taking this week off from competition after having a successful week against Kentridge on Oct. 1 and at the Mukilteo Invitation Saturday.

Dave Wright, head coach for the Bears, described both meets as “very good” then added that “the majority of the team had a season best performance” last week.

Though Tahoma lost to Kentridge, the top team in the South Puget Sound League North Division, Wright said three more of his swimmers qualified for the league championships: freshman Hannah Davis, coming in at 1 minute, 15.8 seconds, senior Jordan Hoglund touched the wall in 1:18.53, both in the 100-meter butterfly, and freshman Tori Bowers in the 500 freestyle with a 6:04.82.

Tahoma has 11 swimmers qualified for the South Puget Sound League championships.

Next up for Tahoma’s swim and dive team is Kentwood. The Bears hosts the Conks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Covington Aquatic Center.
