Sophomore named athlete of the week | Tahoma Track and Field

Tahoma sophomore Olivia Ribera was named athlete of the week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

Tahoma sophomore Olivia Ribera was named athlete of the week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

The WIAA names 12 athletes each week – a male and female from each sport of the season.

Ribera, according to the WIAA’s website, was honored because she led the Bears to win the West Central District track meet this past weekend.

She placed first in three separate events – the 100m, 200m and the long jump.

As an athlete of the week, Ribera will receive a letter of recognition, a commemorative shirt and a certificate.

Ribera along with many other Tahoma track and field athletes will participate in the state tournament this weekend.

State events kick off today at Mount Tahoma High School.
