The Falcons are in last place in the SPSL with a 0-2 league record and 2-4 overall.

The first quarter went scoreless for both teams.

But late in the second quarter, the Chargers took a seven point lead.

The Falcons only score of the game came late in the third quarter.

A 3-yard run from junior running back Micah Vaifale tied the game at seven a piece.

The fourth quarter got away from the Falcons when it allowed the Chargers to score 17 unanswered points.

Senior quarterback Trey Helgeson went seven for 15 on the night for 60 passing yards and four interceptions.

Another Falcon senior quarterback Coday Faulkner went two for seven for eight passing yards and threw one interception.

Vaifale was Falcon leading rusher with 83 yards on 16 carries.

Junior wide receiver Larry Alar had five receptions for 53 yards during Kentlake’s loss Friday.

Up next for the Falcons was a home match up Thursday against the 1-1, 5-1 Tahoma Bears.

Tahoma

Tahoma won its first league game of the season Friday against Kent-Meridian.

The Bears won by six, 41-35.

The Royals got on the board first with a touchdown in the first quarter.

Tahoma answered with a touchdown of its own with 57 seconds to play in the first.

A 49-yard pass from senior quarterback Amandre Williams to junior receiver Aidan Harmon.

The game was tied at seven a piece entering the second quarter.

The Royals took control of the game, scoring three more touchdowns before the half.

Kent-Meridian led 28-7.

Returning from halftime, the third quarter was all Tahoma.

Another pass from Williams this time for 21 yards to sophomore receiver Jerrel Chapman was good for six.

However, the point after was unsuccessful.

A few minutes later, an interception by junior outside line backer Josh Smith was a 70 yard return for a touchdown.

The Bears went for two but the pass from Williams to senior receiver Austin Brown was no good.

Entering the final quarter of play, the Bears trailed 28-19.

Tahoma came within two with a touchdown pass from Williams to Brown for 50 yards.

With 3:04 to play in the game, the Royals returned a fumble for seven more.

The remaining minutes of the game belonged to Tahoma.

The Bears scored on a 38 yard pass from Williams to Brown.

Still down by two, 35-33, the Bears needed to score at the very least a field goal to win the game.

Senior Caleb Brown returned a punt 75 yards with 1:09 left to play.

This time the Bears’ two point conversion pass from Williams to Austin Brown was successful.

Tahoma overcame Kent-Meridian’s game long lead to win its fifth game of the season.

Williams was 19 for 32 on the evening passing for a total of 356 yards and four touchdowns.

Caleb Brown finished the game as leading rusher with 31 yards on 10 carries.

Austin Brown had five receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns.

The next SPSL 4A match up for the Bears was an away game against the Falcons.

Kentwood

Undefeated in league play at 2-0 the Kentwood Conks beat the Federal Way Eagles 16-13 Thursday.

The win was the Conks’ fifth win of the season.

Up next for Kentwood are the Kent-Meridian Royals with kick off set for 7 p.m. Friday at French Field.
