An unidentified driver died in Renton on Dec. 23 after striking a light pole in a single-vehicle fatality crash.

The crash resulted in a temporary closure of Maple Valley Highway between the 2400 and 2900 blocks west of Southeast 5th Street, according to the Renton Police Department.

The driver of a sedan died at the scene, according to the department.

The department believes no additional vehicles or occupants were involved in the incident.
