Donations can be dropped off at the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley, Reber Ranch in Kent and Covington Animal Hospital through the end of June.

Muttley Crew would like to collect at least 200 gently used towels and blankets as well as to make more than 100 cat toys.

A shelter experience can be less stressful for animals, according to the club members, if they have blankets and toys to comfort or distract them.

Club member Steven Johnson got his dog Daz from a shelter. Johnson is one of many 4-H members who have rescued a pet. Daz is a male border collie who ended up with a rescue group when his family could no longer care for him. Johnson found Daz on petfinder.com.
