Washington State Department of Transportation's forecast for Snoqualmie Pass is filled with rain and snow for those traveling for the holiday

Washington State Department of Transportation’s forecast for Snoqualmie Pass is filled with rain and snow for those traveling for the holiday.

For those going east and braving the I-90 corridor, it looks like going earlier in the week should yield better driving conditions.

Tonight (Monday), the forecast says it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow after midnight. Snow level will be near 3,000 feet. Snoqualmie Pass is at about 3,022 feet.

Tomorrow, WSDOT’s website says there will be rain and snow with no snow accumulation, but about a half inch to one inch of rainfall possible.

On Wednesday (Christmas Eve), things might get a little dicey. Rain and snow is expected with the snow level at about 2,500 feet. Temperatures could be in the lower 30s in the afternoon.

The trip back to the west side could be a little brighter later in the week.

Friday is supposed to be partly sunny but with a freezing level near 2,500 feet.

For the rest of the weekend, the snow level is expected to be at the 2,500 feet level with a chance of rain and snow on the pass.
