The following is upcoming meeting highlights for the King County Council.
Monday, January 11
Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.
–The Council will honor the vision and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by proclaiming the month of January Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Month in King County.
–Councilmembers will recognize the Refugee Forum of King County for its outstanding service.
Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:
- An ordinance relating to the composition and duties of the communities of opportunity interim governance group with respect to the communities of opportunity portion of the Best Starts for Kids levy proceeds (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0521.2).
- An ordinance establishing the King County Children and Youth Advisory Board (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0522.2).
Tuesday, January 12

Briefing:
- Management Letter on Solid Waste’s Transfer Plan Review (Briefing No. 2016-B0006).
Law, Justice, and Emergency Management Committee – 1:30 p.m.

- An ordinance relating to emergency jail housing; authorizing an emergency jail housing agreement between King County and Snohomish County (Ordinance 2016-0006).
