Rock blasting to close I-90 Snoqualmie Pass three nights, June 9-11

Drivers to experience delays due to rolling slowdowns, lane closures

Drivers traveling on Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass next week need to plan for an hour of added travel time due to nightly rock blasting closures.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close I-90 at 7:30 p.m. for about an hour Tuesday, June 9 through Thursday, June 11. During rock blasting closures eastbound drivers will be stopped at milepost 56 near Gold Creek and westbound drivers will be stopped at milepost 61 near Price Creek. These closures are weather dependent and are subject to change throughout the week.

On Monday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 10 and again Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12 drivers will experience daytime delays due to rolling slowdowns from mileposts 56 to 61 just east of the Snoqualmie Pass summit. On Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 drivers will experience nighttime delays due to a single lane closure eastbound through the same location.

Contractor crews continue work next week to paint Vantage Bridge. Drivers will experience minor delays during the day and at night due to a single lane closure eastbound Monday, June 1 through Sunday,  June 14.
