The eighth annual Outpatient Physical Therapy Summer’s End Fun Run begins at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 19 at Kentwood High School.
The 5k/10k portion will begin at 10 a.m. – 2k for the kids begins at 9:30 a.m.. After the race, the participants can enjoy a family fun atmosphere including music, a Farmer’s Market, food, vendor booths, and much more.
The event benefits MultiCare and the Coalition for a Healthy Community. Their goal is to create a healthy community by encouraging people of all ages and abilities to move themselves towards a healthy lifestyle.
The Summer’s End Fun Run is part of the second annual south king challenge, which consists of five run/walk events (ET Run, Bear Run, Kent Cornucopia Days, Auburn Winer’s 5K and the Summer’s End Fun Run). The south king challenge requires participation in 4 out of 5 events. At the conclusion of the Summer’s End Fun Run, participants will receive recognition, a finisher’s medal and their name will be placed into a drawing for prizes.

The Coalition for a Healthy Community, aims to encourage families to eat healthy and stay active. All proceeds from the Summer’s End Fun Run benefit programs aimed at producing a healthier community by working with different organizations and schools.
