St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington to host presentations on the impact of Second Vatican Council starting Oct. 2

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington invites those interested to join them for a series of five presentations on the impact the Second Vatican Council has had on the church.

Though these programs will have a Catholic viewpoint, others may find them enriching to their spiritual faith as well.

All programs will take place in the education center from 7-8:30 p.m.

The specific topics and dates are:

  • Oct. 2: “The Church,” with Rev. Mike Raschko, on faculty at Seattle University and Sr. Carol Ann McMullen, S.N.J.M. on faculty of Seattle University.
  • Oct. 9: “The Place of Scripture in the Church, as influenced by Vatican II,” with Rev. James Eblen, Retired faculty of Seattle University.
  • Oct. 16: “The Effect of Vatican II on Ecumenism in the Catholic Church,” with Sr. Joyce Cox, Seattle Archdiocesan Director of Ecumenical/Inter-religious Dialogue.
  • Oct. 23: “Loving Our Neighbor, Vatican II and Faithful Citizenship” with Jim Thomas, M.A. Seattle Archdiocesan Director of Adult Faith Formation for Catholic Social Teaching and Family Life
  • Oct. 30: “Vatican II, the Role of the Laity,” with Stephanie Moore, presenter/trainer for “Living Your Strengths” and “Called and Gifted” programs.

The Church is located at: 25810 156th Ave SE, Covington.

There is no charge for these programs.
