At a special meeting of the Council, Councilmembers

  • Met with representatives of the King County Labor community and the County Executive at the Seattle Labor Temple for the Council’s annual Labor Summit.

 

At today’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:

–Proclaimed June 15, 2015 Elder Abuse Awareness Day in King County.

–Recognized the historic event “Juneteenth”

  • Unanimously approved an ordinance setting the 2016 Sewer Rate and Capacity Charge (Ordinance 2015-0164).
  • Unanimously approved a motion adopting a youth action plan for King County (Motion 2015-0162).
  • Unanimously adopted a motion expressing support for efforts to ensure parity of access to and success resulting from appropriate services for homeless youth and young adults of color and for homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and young adults (Motion 2015-0119).
