Maple Valley home sustains heavy fire damage

An unoccupied home sustained approximately $145,000 in damage during a residential fire on Sept. 11.
The Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, with aid from Kent Fire Department, were dispatched to 8:42 p.m. to a home on the 26500 block of 214th Place Southeast. Fire officials said the fire was building rapidly in the attic and fire crews applied water to the exterior and removed sections of the ceiling to extinguish the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
