Seth Cooper to speak Tuesday night at Kentlake High about using video games to solve hard problems as part of UW lecture series

Seth Cooper, the creative director of the Center for Game Science at the University of Washington, will speak at 7 tonight in the Performing Arts Center at Kentlake High. Cooper, who earned a doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering from UW, focuses his current research on using video games to solve difficult scientific problems. I=He is co-creator and lead designer and developer of Foldit. You can read more about Foldit here. He has also done research in real-time animation for games, often in the mocap lab. He previously worked at Square Enix, Electronic Arts,Pixar Animation Studios and the UC Berkeley Space Sciences Laboratory (on BOINC). |
