Tahoma picked up wins over Federal Way on Wednesday and Kentwood on Thursday. The Bears take on Kent-Meridian on Friday and wrap up the season at Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday. Kentwood plays Auburn Friday and hosts Kentridge on Tuesday.

Offense came slowly at first for Tahoma on Thursday at Kentwood but the bats started blazing in the fifth inning as the Bears racked up another win beating the Conquerors 7-1.

As sophomore Jordan Walley rounded third base after smacking her first solo shot of the game, Tahoma Coach Tom Milligan told her, “Nice spark, way to spark our offense.”

But that was just the second inning.

In the top of the fifth with the bags loaded with Bears, junior Shelby Carter stepped up and smacked a double that drove in Katie Jo Myers and Emily Miller. Lisa Maulden followed that up with an RBI single, putting Tahoma up 4-1.

Walley went 3-for-4, including hitting another solo shot to lead off the sixth inning.

On Senior Day, Tahoma scored 10 runs on 11 hits and shut out Federal Way, as the Bears pressed on with the remainder of its regular season games.

All four seniors had hits in the game. Alex Clyatt went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Alyse Henkel scored two runs, while captains Myers and Kaila Wilkinson were both 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Walley picked up the win in the pitching circle, throwing five innings, allowing two hits and striking out three.
