Olivia Ribera named Athlete of the Week

Olivia Ribera named Athlete of the Week

Tahoma junior Olivia Ribera was named Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) athlete of the week.

She was nominated by a community for the honor.

Ribera was one of 12 athletes chosen by the WIAA.

She finished in first place in the 200m at the Pasco Invitational. And she helped her 4x100m relay team win with a time of 47.13.

Matty Taylor named Player of the Week

The Washington State Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse name Tahoma junior Matty Taylor player of the week for April 11 through 17.

The Bears finished the week 2-0 and improved its overall record to 8-6-0.

In both games, the Bears scored a total of 18 points.

Taylor scored five goals in the 18-12 win over Sumner and handed out one assist.

And he scored five goals and one assist during the 18-0 shutout over Bethel.
