The Bears beat Emerald Ridge Saturday morning 3-1 in the South Puget Sound League playoffs. The victory means the Tahoma will play Bellarmine Prep 2 p.m.at Heidelberg Park, 4500 S. 19th St., Tacoma in the district tournament.

Chris Kerwood earned the win on the hill for Tahoma against Emerald Ridge. He threw into the seventh, mixing his pitches up and keeping Emerald Ridge off balance.

Jerad Casper relieved in the seventh and notched the final out.

Casper went 1-3 at the plate with a home run.

Brian Olson also hit 1-3 with a double and an RBI.

Tahoma finished the SPSL 4A regular season in third place. Last year the Bears finished third in state.
