Season ends after tough losses in regionals

Tahoma and Kentlake secured a spot in the 4A baseball state tournament.

The season ended May 19 for both the Bears and Falcons when both teams lost in the regional round of state.

The Bears were shut out 10-0 by Richland and the Falcons lost 4-1 to Puyallup.

The West Central District 3/Southwest District 4 tournament began May 8 and concluded May 12.

In the first round May 8, the Kentwood Conquerors lost a loser-out game 12-0 to Curtis.

Tahoma

Tahoma began district play by beating Kentridge 5-4.

On May 12 the Bears hosted Todd Beamer in a round two match up and won 5-3.

The win advanced the boys into the district championship game where Tahoma faced off against Puyallup.

The Bears fell 5-2 landing Tahoma in the No. 2 spot.

Kentlake

The Falcons started district play with a 6-1 loss to Puyallup.

In a loser-out match up May 9, Kentlake beat Camas 11-1 before losing 3-0 to South Kitsap May 12.

The loss moved Kentlake to a loser out game against Kentridge where the Falcons won 9-7.

The win placed Kentlake in the No. 7 spot and advanced the Falcons to the regional round of the 4A state tournament.
