Kentwood boys and girls win meet against Kentlake, Thomas Jefferson | Cross country

The Kentwood boys and girls cross country teams won the first South Puget Sound League North meet against Kentlake and Thomas Jefferson.

The Conks boys outran the Falcons 20-40, while they beat TJ 21-36.

The Raiders boys beat the Falcons 15-50.

The Conk girls team, meanwhile, narrowly beat TJ 27-30.

On the Conks boys team, senior Dasan Telford took second with a time of 18 minutes, one second. Junior Robin Cheema placed third, finishing at 18:16. Junior Kris Angus placed fifth with a time of 18:43. Senior Varrick Anderson placed seventh, crossing the finish line at 18:55. Senior Galen Kornowske took ninth at 19:06, while sophomore Jared McMeen took 10th with a time of 19:08.

The Conks girls were led by junior Tessa Carlin, who took second with a time of 21:50. Fellow junior Nicole Charlton took third with a time of 22:20.  Sophomore McKenna Johnson placed sixth with a time of 24:04. Seniors Megan Lee and Carly Horn placed ninth and 10th with times of 24:49 and 25:53 respectively.

Falcons senior Alexander Martinez took first with a time of 17:39, while Falcons girls senior Terra McGinnis placed fourth at 22:53.
