Kentlake’s late offensive surge puts game away against Kentridge | FASTPITCH SLIDE SHOW

Kentlake beat Kentridge on Friday 9-2, going to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in South Puget Sound League North division play.

Kentlake bounced back from its first loss of the season earlier in the week with a 9-2 win over Kentridge Friday afternoon.

The Falcons broke open a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth inning when Libby Riehl’s single drove in Ashlee Buch to take the lead over the Charger.

From there, Kentlake kept Kentridge off the basepaths during the bottom of the sixth, going three up, three down then tacked on four more runs in the top of the seventh after sending eight batters to the plate.

Falcons ace Nikole Weber gave nothing up to the Chargers hitters in the seventh who got one runner on base while Kentridge’s defense tightened up to hang onto the win.

Weber pitched a complete game for Kentlake, giving up one earned run, while Kelli Suguro pitched for Kentridge who struck out six but gave up seven earned runs.

Erin Crowley collected three RBIs going 3-for-5 at the plate including a triple while Kellie Nielsen went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double for the Falcons.

Kentlake handed Kentridge its first loss of the season.

Both teams are 6-1 overall while Kentridge is 3-1 in South Puget Sound League North division play while Kentlake is 2-1.
