Kentlake, Tahoma and Kentwood fall sports rosters loaded with all-league athletes | SPSL All-League teams

Coaches have voted for the top athletes in their respective fall sports with many local prep stars making the lists. In football, Kentwood, Kentlake and Tahoma players all made the South Puget Sound League on offense and defense.

Rex Norris, Kentwood’s head coach, was named SPSL Coach of the Year and Melvin Wells was named Assistant Coach of the Year.

From Kentwood, Mikell Everette was named first team on offense as well as for his work as a defensive back on the other side of the ball.

Linebackers Jason Boyce and James Hatfield also made First Team Defense along with linemen Dalton Blackmore and Quijaan Lawson.

Blackmore was named Defensive Lineman of the Year while Everette was Co-Offensive Back of the Year.

Ronnie Flowers made Second Team Defense from Kentwood.

Blackmore joined Everette on the SPSL First Team Offense along with Boyce at wide receiver.

Offensive linemen Komo Thiarra and Quincy Davison earned second team offense honors for Kentwood while Morgan Hasegawa and Matt Herrick were recognized on the Honorable Mention list.

From Kentlake, wide receivers Austin Pernell and Nu’u Vaifale were named to the first team offense while quarterback Caleb Saulo was named to the second team along with Tyler Jewett.

Falcons running back Stephon Vaifale and offensive lineman Sam Brooks were on the Honorable Mention list.

Pernell earned First Team honors on defense as did Saulo while Jewett was named to the Second Team on defense.

Pernell was also named Defensive Back of the Year for his play at safety for the Falcons.

Ryan Archibald, Sam Brooks and Tanner Lucas of Kentlake all earned Honorable Mention.

Tahoma offensive lineman Kelly Bulduc was named to the SPSL First Team while running back Niko Madison was named to the Second Team on offense and Bears tight end Barrett Weston and offensive lineman Kyle Clark earned Honorable Mention.

Defensive back Jason Smith was named to the Second Team Defense as was linebacker Jared Keeney and lineman Kyle Clark.

Riley Owens and Bolduc earned Defense Honorable Mention.

On the volleyball court Tahoma’s Sally Eager was named the SPSL North Division’s Coach of the Year while senior outside hitter Morgan Murrey was voted North MVP.

Tahoma’s junior setter Miranda Grieser and sophomore outside hitter Rachelle Frets were named to the North Second Team.

Senior libero Tayler Schroeder earned Honorable Mention.

Outside hitter Erin Campbell, a senior from Kentwood, earned First Team honors while junior outside hitter Mikaela Ballou was named to the Second Team.

Kacie Seims and Katie Garlock were Honorable Mention selections.

Kentlake’s sophomore libero Miranda Marburger also earned Honorable Mention.

On the cross country trails, Tahoma’s Julianna Mock and Elizabeth Oosterhout were named to the SPSL North First Team, while Lauren Clawson and Emily Duerson earned Second Team recognition and Bears head coach Gary Conner was named Coach of the Year.

From Kentwood Kailey Ulland and Kentlake’s Sarah Robbins were both named to first team.

On the boys side, Danny Lunder and Will Richmond from Kentwood as well as James Dagley of Tahoma were named to the SPSL North First Team while Kentwood’s Will Johnston made the Second Team.
