FASTPITCH: Tahoma evens league record with win over Kentridge

This season has been a roller coaster ride already for Tahoma’s fastpitch team which is now 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league after a 3-2 win Friday over Kentrdige.

Kentridge pitcher got out of bases loaded jams in the third and the fourth innings but Bears coach Tom Milligan said “we didn’t let her off the hook in the sixth.”

Kiley Dunn led the inning off with a triple, Milligan said, while Shelby Carter followed with an RBI double to the right-center gap.

“Three hitters later, Emily Miller doubled to left to drive in two runs,” Milligan said. “We threw the ball around in the bottom of the sixth and let the Chargers back into the game, but held the one run lead and won the game.”

Miller went two for three from the plate with a pair of doubles while Lisa Maulden was two for three with a double and a single and Carter went two for two with a single and a double. Sherry Linett, Kaila Wilkinson and Alex Clyatt also added to the hits total for the Bears with a single apiece.

Tahoma pitcher Sammi Jimenez scattered hits and Milligan said she “kept the Kentridge hitters at bay for most of the game.”
