Trainer Doris Harwood has nominated her dynamic duo of Winning Machine and Noosa Beach to the $50,000 Seattle Slew Handicap for 3-year-olds.
The 33rd running of the Seattle Slew, to be run at 1 1/16 mile Aug. 2, is the final stop on the road to the $75,000 Emerald Derby on Labor Day.
To date, Harwood has swept all three stakes for sophomores. Noosa Beach, owned by Jeff Harwood won both the six-furlong Auburn Stakes and the 6-½ furlong Pepsi Cola Handicap.
Winning Machine won the one-mile Tacoma Handicap by a head over Rooster City.
Eleven horses are nominated to the race, including three by trainer Jim Penney and two from Vann Belvoir. Rooster City, from the barn of leading trainer Tim McCanna, has been knocking on the door with runner-up finishes in both the Auburn Stakes and Tacoma Handicap.
