After losing the first game of the season, the Kentwood Conquerors have won its last four games.
The latest team to fall to Kentwood were the Tahoma Bears Friday at French Field.
Kentwood won 55-30.
The Bears were leading the league with an undefeated record entering the matchup against the Conks.
Tahoma scored the first points of the game with a three yard run by senior running back Caleb Brown.
With an unsuccessful extra point, the Bears were up 6-0 in the first quarter.
A 7-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Amandre Williams to senior receiver Austin Brown put another six points on the board for Tahoma.
A successful two point conversion pass from Williams to sophomore receiver Jerrel Chapman put the Bears up 14-0.
Kentwood tied the game at 14 in the first quarter after a 45-yard pass from senior quarterback Brian Campbell to senior receiver Grant Stockman and an interception by junior defensive back Jawann Gault for 48 yards.
The second quarter saw two more scores for the Conks.
The first being a seven yard run from junior running back Chavez Kalua-Fuimaono.
Both kickers added three to the board with a 23 yard kick from Tahoma senior Macen Granlund and a 41 yard field goal from Kentwood senior Andre Slyter.
Entering halftime and homecoming celebrations, the Conks led its guest 24-17.
Coming out of the locker room for the final quarters of play, Kentwood added a quick 14 to its score.
Kalua-Fuimaono rushed for 10 yards and 13 yards into the end zone.
Tahoma answered with a 17-yard pass from Williams to senior receiver Cole Peckham.
Another Slyter field goal would add to Kentwood’s lead entering the fourth quarter.
The Conks were up 31-24.
Kentwood started the final minutes of the game with a 43-yard touchdown pass from Campbell to senior receiver Connor Benson.
The Bears final score of the game came next off a 30 yard pass from Williams to junior Aidan Harmon.
Tahoma went for the two point conversion but were unsuccessful and had to settle with six points.
Kalua-Fuimaono scored his fourth touchdown of the night on a one yard run late in the game.
Aside from the Conks racking up 208 yards in penalties, Kentwood handed Tahoma its first loss of the season.
Kalua-Fuimaono ended the game with 238 rushing yards on 34 carries.
Tahoma’s Williams went 29 for 51 and passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns.
He also threw two interceptions in Friday’s game.
Campbell passed for 191 yards and two touchdowns and went 9 for 16.
Kentwood traveled to Federal Way Thursday to face the Federal Way Eagles.
Tahoma returns home today, Friday, to host Kent-Meridian at 7 p.m.
Kentlake
The Falcons lost 23-13 Saturday to Todd Beamer.
Kentlake faces the Kentridge Chargers next with kick off set for 7 p.m. today, Friday, at French Field.
