The nationally ranked Tahoma boys soccer team is on a winning streak.

In fact, the Bears haven’t lost a game all season.

Tahoma is 8-0-0 in league play and 11-0-0 overall with four regular season games remaining.

The latest win came Friday as the Bears hosted the Todd Beamer Titans winning 3-0.

Senior Logan Wood contributed two goals Friday and one was assisted by senior Alex Deck.

The third goal for Tahoma was by sophomore Cris Garfis with an assist by sophomore Kasey Cowell.

Coach Jason Johnson said the key to the Bears’ successful season is the team’s chemistry.

He said the players expect a lot from each other and even though they are proud of the way they have started the season, they “know we have a lot of work still to do.”

A new set of national rankings were released Tuesday and the Bears have moved up.

The Bears are ranked sixth in the country in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s standings.

The team is also rank No. 1 in Region V, according to the NSCAA.

Tahoma is 19th in the TopDrawer ranking.

Johnson said this team is “one of the most focused and enjoyable teams I’ve coached. They are self motivated and more disciplined than most teams I’ve been around.”

The Bears hosted Thomas Jefferson Tuesday after the press deadline.
