Larry T. (“Hippie”) Klapperich

Larry Klapperich, born in Aberdeen SD, November 7, 1944, passed away peacefully at his home in Renton, WA on March 15, 2009.After driving dump truck a few years for Iddings Sand & Gravel, Larry spent more than 38 years in the maritime industry with many different companies working on tugs and barges. Upon retirement from that industry, he managed Butch’s Stump Grinding, a small local tree removal service.He is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Janice (Berglund), daughter Kris (JR) Jensen, sons Eric (Cindy) and Matt (Michelle), grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Keaton, Kelsey, Tom, Michael, Kelly, Josh and Kristina, brothers Ron (Sharon), Dale (Debby), Lowell (Pattie) and Keith, sisters Dolores (Art) Paul, Mary Wintermeyer, Joan McIntyre (Dale Hanson), Denise (Jim) Jackson and Vicki (Gene) Hicks, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Laurence and Neva, and sister Joyce Cregeen.A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, March 29 from 1-4 pm at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
