Janice Sue Cook

Janice Sue Cook of Maple Valley died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Valley Medical Center in Renton. She was 69.

She was born July 9, 1940 in Kansas City, Kan. to John and Irene Ward. She was raised in Kansas City and Renton where she attended local schools. In 1969, she moved to Maple Valley.

In 1977, she married Richard Cook in Reno, Nevada.

In her leisure time she enjoyed road trips, camping, gambling, visiting the ocean, but mostly spending time with her family and friends. She is remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother who was the life of the party, loved to dance and had a great smile.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Richard Cook; children, Ricky Durham of Tacoma and Cindy Malland (Rob) of Bonney Lake; sister, Berdi Conley (Jim) of Auburn, grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Eley of Seattle and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Brooks and her brother, Bob Ward.

A celebration of life was 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to L’Arche Tahoma Hope, 12303 36th Ave, E., Tacoma, Wash. 98446.
