JAMES OWEN WINTER

James Owen Winter passed away in his sleep at home on November 7, 2016. James was born in Seattle on August 10, 1928 to his parents John and Ellen Winter.

He is survived by his loving wife Dolores of 67 years, brother Kenneth Winter, sister Alice Whitmore, sons James and Diana Winter, Keith and Susan Winter, and Dean and Kathy Winter, and a daughter Pauline (Winter) and Mike Wheeler, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Winter and sons John, Gregory and Neil Winter.

James grew up in Seattle, moved to the Kent area after his marriage to Delores, and then moved to Maple Valley in 1965. He then moved to Ravensdale in 2002. James worked for The Boeing Co. for 39 years. He was a loving family man and he was a World War II Veteran. He loved his church, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church which he was a founding member since 1972. He loved fishing, woodworking, his chickens, sports, the Seahawks, playing the piano and volunteering for his VFW post 5052 of Maple Valley.

James was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery on November 12th. A Service and Reception followed at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
