What’s blooming at Lake Wilderness Arboretum | July 14
Published 1:50 pm Monday, July 14, 2014
Imagine … your book club is reading The Language of Flowers, the New York Times bestseller by Vanessa Diffenbaugh that not only tells an evocative story, it explores floriography, the centuries old means of communication through the arrangement of flowers made popular during the Victorian era. You’re hosting the meeting this month and you’d like to plan something special for this early evening event.
What better way to pay homage to this romantic notion than to hold the meeting at Lake Wilderness Arboretum?
In the gardens, you’ll see Hydrangeas (dispassion) in the Hydrangea Garden the Volunteer Garden, Hardy fuchsias (humble love) in the Perennial Garden and Day lilies (coquetry) in the Legacy Garden.
The arboretum is available as a meeting place for local groups and clubs throughout the year and especially in summer, when the long days and dry weather allow for outdoor activities.
To secure a date in the gardens for your meeting, contact the arboretum by email at info@lakewildernessarboretum.org or call 253-293-5103.
