The latest drive for donations in support of U.S. military personnel serving overseas brought this acknowledgement from its organizers, Christian Friends of Troops and Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Maple Valley:

“Thank you, Maple Valley Safeway customers, for your generous donations on Jan. 17 to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. You are

appreciated.

“We also thank Safeway Inc. and Maple Valley Safeway manager Dave Neale for permitting us to hold this event.

“We are also accepting unwanted cell phones which will be exchanged for prepaid calling cards for the troops.”
