Covington mayor on suburban-cities board

Covington Mayor Margaret Harto is continuing as a member of the Board of Directors of Suburban Cities Association of King County, an organization of municipal governments countywide.

The association, which represents 37 cities with a combined population of 831,050, has announced its board and officers for 2009. They include Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis as president.

Harto is among five returning members of the nine-member board.

Suburban Cities Association is a non-profit organization that provides advocacy, education, mutual support and networking to for member cities in an effort to strengthen communities, said Karen Goroski, the group’s executive director.
