Tahoma cancels classes again Wednesday

Students got another day off today in the Tahoma School District road conditions due to safety concerns related to forecasts of snow showers throughout the day.

According to the Tahoma Web site, “the decision to close schools is based on safety concerns due to anticipated heavy snowfall in the foothills area.”

In the Kent School District, bus service is limited for the third straight day, while kindergarten classes and preschool have been canceled.

Kent officials suggest parents watch for changing weather conditions that could lead to a change in the schedule.

Additional information about the school districts’ policies regarding inclement weather is available through their Web sites, which are linked to the Reporter’s online edition.

Green River Community College is continuing on a normal schedule, as it did Monday.

Temperatures in the Covington, Maple Valley and Black Diamond areas have dipped well below freezing and are predicted by weather forecasters to stay near or below that mark into next week.
