Snow on the first day of the High School Proficiency Exam and Tahoma School District is running two hours late

According to a message posted to SchoolReport.org, the Tahoma School District is running two hours late this morning, Tuesday, March 13.

According to a message posted to SchoolReport.org, the Tahoma School District is running two hours late this morning, Tuesday, March 13.

Today is the first day of the High School Proficiency Exam, or the HSPE, which all 10th graders around the state are required to take.

Initially the HSPE testing was postponed by the school district. Testing is scheduled for today, tomorrow and Thursday.

District officials posted to Facebook, however, that sophomores will test today after all.

“Tahoma High School students will be taking the HSPE test today. We have checked with the state Superintendent of Public Instruction and we have not been granted a postponement. Students should report at 10:15 a.m. prepared to take the test. Students who are not testing today will be directed to other activities.”

Due to the weather conditions, however, all high school students are expect to report at 10:15 a.m.

Buses will operate on snow routes. There is no morning kindergarten or preschool. Extended Enrichment Program will operate at all elementary schools beginning at 8 a.m.; no breakfast will be served.
