On Thursday morning, Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety broke ground in front of Maple Valley Station 81 where the 9/11 memorial will stand.

Firefighters Kelley Jensen and Tyler Gage along with Matt Marinelli who designed the structure were at the station setting two columns that resemble the Twin Towers.

On Saturday, Sept. 12 the finished memorial will be dedicated in a ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m.
