Mathnasium of Covington hosts second annual National Trimathlon competition

Mathnasium of Covington hosted its second annual National Trimathlon competition for students in grades 3-6 in the Covington/Kent area Sept. 29.

Mathnasium of Covington hosted its second annual National Trimathlon competition for students in grades 3-6 in the Covington/Kent area Sept. 29.

The students competed in three different math competitions; Mental Math, Counting by Numbers and Magic Square Math.

Each grade level was represented by students in our community hoping to show off their math skills, have a lot of fun and earn prizes while doing so. Each grade level received a first, second and third place prize in the competition.

The first place winner from each grade level received a gold medal, an X-Box game and a gift card.

The second place winner from each grade level received a silver medal, an X-Box Game and a gift card.

The third place winner received a bronze medal an Interactive Math game and a gift card.

The awards ceremony was held after all competitions had been completed and featured our wonderful Covington Mayor Margaret Harto.

The Covington families enjoyed participating in the awards ceremony and the hard work and dedication by our students were celebrated by all.

A special thanks to area businesses who donated gift cards for our competition: The Rock, Yogurtland, Hacienda Del Mar and Hop Jacks.
