Maple Valley firefighters rescue six puppies from residential fire

An accidental fire caused $15, 000 in damages to a residence in the 21400 block of 244th Avenue Southeast.

The Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety was first called at 5:55 p.m.

Upon arrival firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage.

One crew immediately went to work extinguishing the fire while another searched the residence for occupants. None were found. Six labrador puppies were rescued from the garage. The puppies were unharmed and none were in need of medical aid.

MVFLS participates in the Wag’N O2 Fur Life Program and carries pet oxygen masks.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
