Maple Valley Fire Department to host free Open House

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety will host it's annual open house at Station 81, located at 22225 SE 231st Street, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sept. 13.

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety will host it’s annual open house at Station 81, located at 22225 SE 231st Street, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sept. 13.

Demonstrations will include vehicle extrication, high angle rescue, and live fire extinguishing. There will also be a free BBQ, popcorn, snow cones, and drinks provided. Additionally, helicopters from the King County Sheriff’s Office and Airlift Northwest will land. THe Community Emergency Response Team and King County Sheriff’s Office will also be on hand with demonstrations and education materials. Other activities include a firefighter challenge course, bouncy house, smokehouse trailer, and highline rides for kids, and stations staffed by firefighters checking blood pressures and blood sugars.

Parking will be located at the Park and Ride northwest of the station with a free shuttle service to transport people back and forth.
