Legislators from 5th District host a telephone town hall meeting

State representatives Glenn Anderson, R-Fall City, and Jay Rodne, R-North Bend, will host a district-wide telephone town hall at 6:50 p.m. on June 17.

State representatives Glenn Anderson, R-Fall City, and Jay Rodne, R-North Bend, will host a district-wide telephone town hall at 6:50 p.m. on June 17.

Constituents from the 5th legislative district, which includes Maple Valley, are encouraged to join in the conversation with their representatives who will discuss this year’s regular and special legislative sessions as well as other topics.

Both Anderson and Rodne have filled with King County Elections to run for re-election to their seats in the State House.

“While I am out and around the community regularly, it is not always easy for constituents to attend in-person meetings,” Anderson said in a statement. “This call is an innovative way to reach out to the many very busy households and listen their thoughts, concerns and solutions to the challenges facing Washington.”

The telephone community meeting will work much like a call-in radio show and will allow callers an opportunity to have an interactive experience through polls, surveys as well as question and answer sessions with Anderson and Rodne.

“This telephone town hall is a convenient way for citizens to ask us questions and provide their input on issues important to our communities,” Rodne said. “I encourage people to call in from the comfort of their own homes and participate at any level they feel comfortable with.”

To participate, citizens may call the toll-free community conversation number at 1-877-229-8493, and enter PIN code 15539 when prompted.

Once on the line, callers may select star 3 (*3) on the keypad to ask a question, or simply listen to the conversation. There will also be an opportunity at the end of the call to leave a message for the legislators to return.

Constituents who are unable to join the conversation can contact Anderson and Rodne at their legislative offices.

Anderson can be reached at (360) 786-7876 or Anderson.Glenn@leg.wa.gov. Rodne can be reached at (360) 786-7852 or Rodne.Jay@leg.wa.gov.

Residents are also welcome to leave a message on the toll-free legislative hotline at 1-800-562-6000.
